Budding life

Along with the beautiful sunshine and budding trees there seems to be a calling for justice in the air.  Some of you may not be in this swirl, but Mike and I seem to be in 3 different situations right now that are calling for truth and for someone to stand up and say they are not going away.

They will stand and speak the truth in love.  I knew the best thing to do was to go to God’s word and see what He had to say about it.  I’ve spent several hours pouring over the word justice and here’s what I’ve found so far:

  • We can ask God to decree justice.
  • To give us a discerning heart to distinguish between right and wrong.
  • We can ask for Wisdom from God to administer justice
  • God judges the people.
  • He will vindicate us according to our righteousness and integrity.
  • God probes the minds and hearts of those He created.
  • God is a righteous judge.
  • His throne is established for judgment.
  • He rules the world in righteousness.
  • He judges the people with equity.
  • God is known by his acts of justice.
  • God loves justice and righteousness.
  • His eyes examine the righteous.
  • God saves the upright in heart.
  • His throne is established for judgment.
  • He judges people with equity.
  • He is known by his acts of justice.
  • God’s eyes examine everyone and he examines the righteous.
  • God loves justice.
  • God saves the upright in heart.
  • He who forms the hearts of all considers everything we do.
  • The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him.
  • The LORD foils the plans of the nations.
  • He thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
  • The plans of the LORD stand firm forever.
  • The purposes of his heart last through all generations.
  • He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.
  • We put our hope in Him.
  • The heavens proclaim his righteousness.
  • He is a God of justice.
  • A scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
  • Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
So, if all that is true, God’s eyes are on us, His plans can’t be thwarted, He will vindicate us and in the end He is justice, we don’t have a thing to worry about!  What our job is, is to stay righteous, knowing He will examine our hearts and He will be the judge.  Now, that brings us to the next concern and that is, is it our job to not only pray, but also to take action.  If we take action, what would that look like?  Speak the truth in love.  But what does that look like?
Ephesians 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace…

7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.  Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

God bless you as you aspire to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received”.  Wow, I was all ready to take up my shield and sword and go to battle, and God is saying words like humble, patient, gentle…Yikes!  Back to the drawing board.

Hope to see some of you at noon at Frank consulting as we pray for the marketplace.

Blessings!

Robbie
